Hello everyone

Healthwatch Darlington has a seat on the Health and Wellbeing Board and as a member we have voting rights too. We want to ensure that this is used most effectively by ensuring the voice of our community is listened to and acted upon.

We can only achieve this with your help!!

The Health and Wellbeing Board meet every quarter and all details and documents are put on the Darlington Borough Council’s website at least 5 days before the meeting. All meetings are open to the public and anyone wishing to attend is more than welcome.

If you are a patient, carer, organisation, community group and/or resident and you have an issue or concern you would like to raise, then we want to hear from you! We rely on you talking to us to ensure we can create a collective voice to make certain our health and social care services are working for the people of Darlington.

Problems with services, difficulties with getting your voice heard, issues in the community, lack of help and support – these can only be resolved by working with others and speaking to Healthwatch. We can feed issues and concerns up to the Health and Wellbeing Board as well as feeding back to you through reports, emails and newsletters.

We also work closely with commissioners and providers of health and social care services by responding to reports, attending local and national meetings, entering and viewing services, being a critical friend and working with others to influence local decision making.

We are a small organisation who with the best will in the world cannot know everything about health and social care services in Darlington – that’s where YOU come in.

Talk to us – tell us what matters to you and how we can work together to improve services.

We look forward to speaking to you!

Kind regards
Michelle Thompson
Chair of Healthwatch Darlington
