Collection
- Simply collect your prescription from the surgery 2 working days after ordering.
- Enclose a stamped, addressed envelope & we will post your prescription to you.
- Collect your medicines directly from the chemist of your choice. Please arrange this with our reception staff. This is a very popular option.
- Have your medicines delivered by your chemist. Discuss this with our reception staff; you may need to allow more than 2 days to ensure delivery on time. Please note some chemists may not offer this service
All repeat prescriptions take 2 clear working days to process. This may seem a long time, but your records have to checked, the prescriptions have to be checked and signed and any queries sorted out. Using the order slip makes the process very much safer as so many drugs have similar names and there is an alarming variety of doses to choose from!
We are quite happy to issue 2 or 3 months supply of medication at a time for conditions that are stable.
Please let us know if there are items on your repeat prescription that you no longer need and we will delete them.
Darlington Primary Care Group has asked all surgeries to beg patients to only order repeat medication that they take, as tens of thousands of pounds are wasted each year on medication that is hoarded and never taken. If you have medication at home you no longer need, always take it back to the chemist for safe disposal.
